Gua Sha Stone Facial Sculpting
Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese practice that's thought to increase the flow of energy or, "Qi", in the skin. This involves a tool -- usually made of jade or rose quartz that's cut to fit the contours of the face, which is used by gently scraping it over the neck and face -- in an upwards sweeping motion. This technique is said to cause friction when pressure is applied via the gua sha tool, which can increase blood flow and improve circulation to the area. The idea is that the increase in blood flow offers an added boost, such as increased collagen production, along with reductions in puffiness, hyperpigmentation, and muscle tension. The gua sha stone facial is a great add-on with a chemical peel.
