OUR REJUVENATION TREATMENTS:
Botox and Dysport injections (a botulinum toxin) are both a purified substance derived from bacteria. The injection of botulinum enables the muscle to relax by blocking nerve signals or chemicals that tell muscles to contract. The result is skin that appears smoother.
BOTOX was the first brand of botulinum toxin available, however Dysport and Xeomin all contain the same active ingredient as Botox: botulinum toxin type A. All three brands reach their maximum effects in 2-3 weeks, however patients see Dysport usually onset in 1 to 2 days, while Xeomin has a more gradual onset. Botox typically starts working in 2-3 days. There are no studies that determine which lasts longest, most doctors will agree that BOTOX, DYSPORT and XEOMIN last 3-4 months.
Botox procedures generally last around 15 minutes, and no anesthesia is required. Botox requires no downtime and you can get back to your routine immediately. The only word of caution is to not rub or massage the injected areas, as the Botox can spread to another area of your face and cause temporary facial weakness or drooping. All of our injectors have ample experience in administering Botox and in helping patients look more youthful.
